Must-Visit Coffee Shops in Miami

Updated: Sep 11

Miami will always have my heart—not just because of its sunshine, art, and endless energy, but because it’s where I was born. I don’t live here now, but every time I come back, I’m reminded of how layered and flavorful this city is. The food, the music, the mix of cultures—it all shows up in the coffee. On my most recent visit, I decided to do what I always do in a new (or in this case, familiar) city: make a coffee trail. Between beach walks, Wynwood murals, and catching up with friends, I found myself in some incredible cafés. Each had its own vibe, its own rhythm—and each made me pause for just a little longer than planned.

Here are the Miami coffee spots that made my list this time around.

Panther Coffee

If you know Miami’s coffee scene, you know Panther. They roast their own beans, source directly from producers, and have been a staple in the city for years. Their Wynwood location is my go-to—it’s buzzy, full of color, and smells like freshly roasted beans the moment you walk in. I had their cold brew, sat outside surrounded by street art, and felt like I was soaking in Miami in its purest form.

Vice City Bean

One sip of their honey latte and I was sold. Vice City Bean has that cozy-but-modern aesthetic with plants in the corners, light streaming through the windows, and just the right level of background music. I paired my latte with a guava pastry from a local bakery they partner with—it’s the kind of pairing that makes you want to linger long after your cup is empty.

Suite Habana Café

Suite Habana is like a love letter to Cuban coffee—crafted slowly, served with care, and full of warmth. The space itself is small but filled with personality, with framed photographs celebrating Cuban heritage. I had a café con leche with a fresh guava pastelito, and it felt like coming home. It’s more relaxed than the bustling ventanitas, but still full of heart.

Café Grumpy

This New York transplant fits right into Miami’s Design District, bringing its signature owl logo and a dedication to high-quality brewing. I ordered a pour-over, grabbed a seat by the window, and watched the neighborhood slowly come alive. The crowd here is a mix of creatives, shoppers, and locals stopping in for their daily fix.

Bigface

If you like your coffee with a side of personality, Bigface is your spot. Founded by NBA star Jimmy Butler, it’s fun, bold, and unapologetically Miami. The branding is playful, the espresso is rich and smooth, and the staff has that easy, laid-back charm that makes you want to stay and chat. I grabbed an iced latte before wandering through Wynwood’s murals, and it was the perfect start to my day.

Surry Hills Coffee

Australian-style coffee in the middle of Miami? Yes, please! The menu here is simple but intentional, with flat whites, long blacks, and perfectly poached eggs for breakfast. I had a flat white that was creamy and balanced, with latte art that made me pause before taking a sip. The space is bright, airy, and gives you that breezy, coastal energy even miles from the beach.

Cortadito Coffee House

Sometimes you just need a classic Cuban coffee done right, and Cortadito delivers. Their café con leche is smooth and strong, with just the right amount of sweetness. I paired mine with a pastelito de guayaba, and it instantly transported me to the mornings I remember visiting here as a kid. It’s casual, quick, and always hits the spot.

Baker and Barista

Part bakery, part coffee haven, Baker and Barista is the kind of place you’ll want to start every beach day. Their pastries are buttery and fresh out of the oven, and the cappuccino I had here was velvety and perfectly foamy. I took mine to go and walked straight to the beach—coffee in hand, ocean breeze in my hair.

Zak the Baker

More than just a bakery, Zak the Baker is a Miami institution. Their bread and pastries are famous, but the coffee is equally worth the trip. I had a cappuccino alongside a slice of warm sourdough topped with avocado and pickled onions—it was hearty, flavorful, and felt like the ultimate Miami breakfast.

Miam

Miam is the kind of place that feels bright and happy the moment you walk in. Known for its fresh, healthy breakfast and lunch options, it also serves excellent coffee that pairs perfectly with their light menu. I ordered an oat milk latte with their homemade granola and yogurt, and it was the kind of breakfast that made me feel energized for the rest of the day.

White Rose Coffee

White Rose is a hidden gem tucked away in Miami’s Little River neighborhood. The space has an artsy, intimate feel, with warm lighting and mismatched furniture that makes it feel like a friend’s living room. I tried their lavender latte and a warm croissant, and it was one of those slow, quiet mornings you wish you could bottle up.

The Heart of Miami's Coffee Scene

Miami’s coffee scene is like the city itself—colorful, creative, and full of personality. From modern roasteries to Cuban classics, each café I visited brought its own story to the table. If you’re heading to Miami (or you’re lucky enough to have grown up here), save this list and create your own coffee trail. And if you know a spot I missed, tell me—I’m always ready for my next hometown coffee adventure.
