Every time I travel, I map out coffee shops the way some people plan museums or restaurants—because for me, starting the day with a really good cup in a cozy space is part of the experience. On my trip to Knoxville, I set out to explore the city’s coffee scene in between strolls through Market Square, riverfront views, and local shopping—and it did not disappoint. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just love discovering new places to sip and slow down, here are some Knoxville coffee shops that stood out during my visit (and that I’d gladly return to again).

Remedy Coffee
Located in the Old City, Remedy Coffee has a bright, open space that makes you want to linger. Their focus on community is as strong as their brews, and the menu ranges from expertly crafted pour-overs to creamy lattes. I had a honey latte here, and it was perfectly balanced—sweet without losing the bold coffee flavor.
Highland Coffee
Highland Coffee is a cozy, unpretentious spot tucked in West Knoxville. It has the feel of a true neighborhood café, with friendly baristas and a steady hum of regulars. I ordered a cappuccino and a fresh muffin, then grabbed a seat by the window to watch the morning unfold.
Jacks
Right in the heart of downtown, Jacks pairs a casual atmosphere with seriously good coffee. The minimalist interior makes the drinks the star, and my flat white was one of the smoothest I had in Knoxville. It’s also a great spot for grabbing a to-go cup before a stroll through Market Square.
Five & Hoek Coffee Co.
This local roaster’s Knoxville location brings a modern, airy vibe and a menu that’s full of seasonal creations. My lavender latte was fragrant and refreshing, and the staff’s passion for their craft really came through in the details.
K Brew
K Brew is a Knoxville staple, with multiple locations and a reputation for quality. I stopped into their Broadway shop and loved the laid-back, rustic feel. They serve locally roasted coffee alongside fresh bagels, and my everything bagel with cream cheese was the perfect companion to my latte.
Mahalo Coffee Roasters
Walking into Mahalo Coffee Roasters feels like stepping into sunshine. The tropical touches and bright, beachy vibe instantly lift your mood, and their iced caramel latte is a must. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and savor.
Honeybee Coffee
Honeybee Coffee takes pride in sourcing high-quality beans and roasting them in-house. Their West Knoxville café is sleek yet inviting, with plenty of space to work or catch up with a friend. My cortado was smooth, rich, and clearly made with care.

Wild Love Bakehouse
Part bakery, part coffee shop, Wild Love Bakehouse is famous for its pastries—and for good reason. I paired a buttery croissant with a cappuccino and it was pure comfort. The light-filled space and friendly service make it a perfect morning stop.
Likewise Coffee
Tucked in the Happy Holler neighborhood, Likewise Coffee has a community-focused mission and a cozy, welcoming feel. My pour-over was clean and bright, and it’s the kind of spot where you can settle in and feel right at home.

Knoxville’s coffee scene blends Southern hospitality with a growing passion for specialty brews. Whether you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix before hitting the trails or a spot to linger over pastries and conversation, these cafés deliver on both quality and atmosphere.
If you’ve explored Knoxville’s coffee shops and have a favorite I didn’t mention, send it my way—because I’ll definitely be back for another round.
